Two jelly characters playing volleyball on Sunny Beach

How the game plays

You move left and right and jump. The ball bounces off your character, so timing the jump is the whole trick. Each side gets three touches, the fourth one is a fault. If the ball lands in the sand on the other side, you score.

Every touch also fills your flame bar. When it is full, your next spike turns into a fireball. It flies faster, burns and is very hard to return. A set goes to 7, 11, 15 or 21 points, and you can play one set or best of three.

Play volleyball online in your browser

The demo is the quickest way to try it. It loads about 6 MB, needs no account and starts on Sunny Beach with three characters. You can play solo against the computer or with two people on one keyboard or touchscreen.

  • Left player: A and D to move, W to jump
  • Right player: arrow keys
  • Phone or tablet: each player gets buttons on their half of the screen

Two players, one device

Glibber Cup is built for playing side by side. Put a tablet on the table, connect two controllers to a Mac, or share one phone. There is no online mode and no second device needed. Read more on the page about 2 player games.

11 worlds that change the rules

The court changes more than the background. On the Moon Base the ball floats, under water it sinks slowly, in the desert the wind pushes it sideways. Volcano Island fills the flame bar twice as fast, so fireballs come thick and fast. On the Glacier you slide on ice, in Sugar Hills you jump higher, and on the Neon Rooftop the ball drops faster and hits harder.

Arcade, not a simulation

This is not a realistic volleyball simulation with teams and rotations. It is one against one, rounds take a few minutes, and the controls fit on three buttons. That makes it a good game for kids, for a quick break, or for settling who does the dishes.

Where to get the full game

Glibber Cup is on Google Play for Android phones and tablets. The versions for iPhone, iPad and Mac are coming to the App Store soon. The download is free and includes Sunny Beach, three characters and two balls. A one-time purchase, All Worlds, unlocks the other ten worlds, five characters and four balls. No ads, no subscription, no account, and settings stay on your device.

Questions and answers

Is there a free volleyball game I can play online?

Yes. The Glibber Cup demo runs free in your browser on computer, tablet and phone. It has Sunny Beach and three characters, and you can play against the computer or with two players.

Can two people play volleyball on one phone?

Yes. On a phone or tablet each player gets their own buttons on their half of the screen. On a computer one player uses A, D and W, the other the arrow keys. Two controllers also work.

How many touches does each side get?

Three, like in real volleyball. The fourth touch is a fault and gives the point to the other side.

Does Glibber Cup work with a controller?

Yes. Common Bluetooth controllers work, for example the PlayStation 5 controller. The controller rumbles when you hit the ball, and the menus work with it too.

Does the game have ads or a subscription?

No. The app is free to download, and one optional purchase unlocks all worlds. There are no ads and no subscription.

Do I need an internet connection to play?

The app plays without internet. You only need a connection to download it and for the purchase. The browser demo needs to load once.
